Editorial Ethics

Publishing ethics policy of the Journal is the code of conduct and guidelines which should be followed by all participants of the academic publication process, including authors, peer reviewers, editors, publishers, distributors, and readers.

Publishing ethics policy of Contributions to Game Theory and Management follows the guidelines designed by the international Committee on Publication Ethics (СОРЕ).


The principles of professional ethics in activity of the editorial board and publisher

The Editorial board (editor) in the work is guided by modern legal requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation for copyright, plagiarism and the ethical principles maintained by community of the leading publishers of the scientific periodical press and bears responsibility for publication of author's works that imposes need of following to the fundamental principles:

  • relevance and originality of a research; reliability of results and the scientific importance of the performed work;

  • recognitions of a contribution of other researchers on the considered subject and obligatory existence of bibliographic references to the used works;

  • representations to number of coauthors of all participants who contributed significantly to the conducted research, and approval of the work as all coauthors presented to the publication;

  • immediate taking measures to correction of the essential mistakes and inaccuracies found by the author or revealed by editorial board;

  • the unpublished data obtained from the manuscripts sub-mitted to consideration should not be used or be transferred to the third parties without written consent of the author;

  • information or the ideas received during editing have to remain confidential;

  • the editor should not allow to the publication information, if there are bases to believe that it is plagiarism or contains the materials forbidden to publication;

  • the editor together with the publisher should not leave without answer of a claim, concerning the considered manuscripts or the published materials and also at identification of a conflict situation to take all necessary measures for restoration of the violated rights.


The principles of ethics in activity of the reviewer

A reviewer carries out scientific examination of author's materials owing to what its actions have to have the impartial character consisting in performance of the following principles:

  • the manuscript received for reviewing has to be considered as the confidential document, which cannot be transferred for acquaintance or discussion to the third parties without the consent of editorial board;

  • the reviewer is obliged to give the objective and reasoned assessment to the stated results of a research. The personal criticism of the author is unacceptable;

  • the unpublished data obtained from the manuscripts submit-ted to consideration should not be traded on by the reviewer;

  • a reviewer who has no, according to him, sufficient qualification for manuscript assessment or cannot be objective, for example, in case of the conflict of interests with the author or the organization, has to report about it to the editor with a request of his exception of process of reviewing of this manuscript.


The principles of ethics in activity of the author of the scientific publications

Author (or group of authors) bears personal responsibility for novelty and reliability of results of scientific research that assumes respect for the following principles:

  • authors of article have to report reliable results of the conducted researches. Obviously wrong or forged statements are unacceptable;

  • authors have to guarantee originality of the results of a research stated in the provided manuscript;

  • the borrowed fragments or statements have to be issued with obligatory instructions of the author and the primary source;

  • excessive loans and also plagiarism in any forms, including not properly executed quotes, rephrasing or assignment of the rights to results of others researches, are unethical and unacceptable;

  • references to works which mattered when carrying out a research have to be presented in article;

  • authors should not provide the manuscript which was sent to other journal in the journal and is under consideration and also article which is already published in other journal;

  • all persons which contributed significantly to carrying out a research have to be specified by coauthors of article;

  • among coauthors it is inadmissible to specify the persons who were not participating in a research;

  • at detection by the author of essential mistakes or inaccuracies in article at a stage of its consideration or after its publication, it has to notify on it editorial board of the journal as soon as possible.
